Learning Opportunities

We believe that, apart from prayer, two of the main activities of a church should be preaching and teaching. As such, we try to provide the means for people to attain Biblical literacy for there is no greater provision for souls than to know God’s Word:

  • Our midweek meeting on Wednesday evenings includes not only prayer but also a Bible Study, led at times by visiting speakers/ministers and on other occasions by church members
  • The Ladies’ Meeting, held on Wednesday mornings, also has a Bible Study as an integral part of the meeting
  • Every third week of the month we divide into House Groups and both English language and Welsh language groups include a Bible Study in their meetings
  • On quite a regular basis we hold Missionary Evenings, when we invite speakers from various missionary societies to come and share their experiences with us; these are held at least once every three to four months and we are then able to learn more about their work and support them both in prayer and financially
  • A Welsh language Bible Study is held at Tregaron on every other Thursday evening during most of the year
  • We offer courses in Discipleship as well, being a chronological study of the Bible, and we also offer courses in Christianity Explored when the opportunity arises
  • On Sunday we hold Sunday School, both during the English service in the morning and during the Welsh evening service; our usual practice is for the children involved to begin their Sunday School classes just before the sermon begins
  • Other activities include an International Students’ Evening on Monday evenings and a learning Welsh class for Beginners (early evening, Wednesdays)
  • We run a Christian Bookstall in the church on Sundays, and we have close associations with Yr Hedyn Mwstard/The Mustard Seed Christian Centre and Coffee Shop in Lampeter which has a more extensive collection of both new and second hand Christian books.

Cyfleoedd Dysgu

Credwn mai dau o brif weithgareddau eglwys, ar wahân i weddi, ddylai fod pregethu ac addysgu. O’r herwydd, ceisiwn ddarparu’r modd i bobl ennill llythrennedd Feiblaidd gan nad oes darpariaeth bwysicach ar gyfer yr enaid nag i wybod Gair Duw:

  • Mae ein cyfarfod canol wythnos ar nos Fercher yn cynnwys nid yn unig gyfnod o weddio ond hefyd Astudiaeth Feiblaidd, a arweinir weithiau gan siaradwyr/gweinidogion sy’n ymweld neu ar adegau eraill gan aelodau o’r eglwys
  • Mae Cyfarfod y Chwiorydd, a gynhelir ar foreau Mercher, hefyd yn cynnwys Astudiaeth Feiblaidd fel rhan anhepgor o’r cyfarfod
  • Pob trydedd wythnos o’r mis rhannwn yn Grwpiau Tai ac mae’r grwpiau Cymraeg a Saesneg eu hiaith ill dau yn cynnwys Astudiaeth Feiblaidd
  • Yn eithaf rheolaidd cynhaliwn Nosweithiau Cenhadol, pan rown wahoddiad i gynrychiolwyr o wahanol Gymdeithasau Cenhadol i ddod atom i rannu eu profiadau gyda ni; cynhelir y rhain o leiaf unwaith bob rhyw dri neu bedwar misact yna cawn gyfle i ddysgu mwy am eu gwaith ac i’w cefnogi mewn gweddi a thrwy gyfraniadau ariannol
  • Cynhelir Astudiaeth Feiblaidd Gymraeg yn Nhregaron bob yn ail wythnos ar nos Iau am y rhan fwyaf o’r flwyddyn
  • Cynigiwn gyrsiau ar Ddisgyblaeth yn ogystal, sef astudiaeth gronolegol o’r Beibl, a hefyd gyrsiau Darganfod Cristnogaeth pan fo’r cyfle’n codi
  • Ar y Sul cynhaliwn Ysgol Sul, yn ystod y gwasanaeth boreol Saesneg a hefyd yn ystod y gwasanaeth Cymraeg hwyrol; ein harfer yw i’r plant sydd yn y dosbarthiadau ddechrau eu Hysgol Sul yn union cyn i’r bregeth gychwyn
  • Mae gweithgareddau eraill yn cynnwys Cyfarfod i Fyfyrwyr Rhyngwladol ar nos Lun a dosbarth dysgu Cymraeg i Ddechreuwyr yn gynnar ar nos Fercher
  • Rhedwn Stondin Lyfrau Cristnogol yn yr eglwys ar ddydd Sul, ac mae gennym gysylltiadau agos gyda Chanolfan Gristnogol a Siop goffi’r Hedyn Mwstard yn Llanbed, sydd yn cynnig casgliad ehangach o lyfrau Cristnogol newydd ac ail law.
